Thank you Trevena Cross Nursery

7th June 2017
Today, the children in Dolphins class , learnt just how important the rainforest is to the world. They learnt that the trees and plants of the rainforest transpire moisture into the atmosphere which then condenses and precipitates back down the the ground ready to be cleaned(percolated) and re-absorbed by the plants again. They understood that as the rainforest is being dramatically shrunk, through deforestation, it is going to cause global effects such as droughts and ironically flooding. The children then created their own terrarium to see how the water cycle occurs for themselves using old large drinking bottles, soils, sand, gravel and plants kindly donated by Trevena Garden centre. THANK YOU TREVENA!!
