A Message from our Chair of Governors, Neil Gunnell

22nd February 2021

When I hear of the pandemic storm and picture children and parents sitting at home working quietly away at the lessons their teachers give them. I think of the story from across the bay, of Mowzer the cat and his pet, old Tom the fisherman, sitting in their cottage by another harbour at Mousehole.

I know I speak for our governors when applauding you, the pupils of Porthleven school, working each day; children, parents and teachers together.

Of course you are enthusiastic to be together, back in school, and that day is coming but until then your enthusiasm working remotely is truly wonderful you are independent young people who have the resilience to overcome any storm.

Please accept my heartfelt thanks, you are Porthleven’s heroes and champions.
